Autism Speaks Endorses ABLE Bill Creating Tax-free Savings Accounts

Autism Speaks Endorses ABLE Bill Creating Tax-free Savings Accounts.

This is the first time I have used the “Press This” button to link what I have found on the Interwebz onto the blog.

I’m quite intriqued by this. We have already started a VPEP (a prepaid college plan) for Mayor Bee before he was diagnosed. If this passes, a new opportunity opens where funds can also be used for other supports for independent living.

Even though he’s not even four years old, I do worry about what happens when he graduates high school, (hopefully) gets into a good school, and needs to adjust into a new independent life.

About OneLoCoMommy

I live in Northern Virginia and and I look like the stereotypical suburban mom, for better or for worse. My son plays baseball and takes karate (albeit adaptive). My daughter is a gymnastics diva but rolls with the boys in T-ball. I've been a Room Mom and Playdate Coordinator. I work full-time, try to work out, and love my Book Club. However, I also blog on my experiences on our ASD, SPD and ADHD journey while trying to be a better parent advocate. All in a life's work.

  1. Transition is what worries all parents of children, especially those with SN. You were wise to begin his fund early. The Bill is worth supporting. Red.
