Halloween 2012 = Success

And a happy Day of the Dead to you all.

Halloween has come and gone. Whether you dressed your kids up, or handed out the treats, or partied it up, I hope you had fun.

Happy Halloween!

With Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy, things got all kinds of floopy in the Northeast. We were VERY lucky and had minimal damage. With our offices closed as well – we hunkered down and waited it out. Which is a story upon itself.

Things kind of got back to normal yesterday. First, Mayita had her first Halloween experience. Her daycare did a “Trunk or Treat” event where she got a bunch of goodies. I took time off work to see her and help get her dressed. Do you think she liked being a flower? Well…

I am not amused, MOTHER.

Mayita did get over her initial shock of her outfit and did very well. She then helped me later hand out candy. She started to get the hang of it. As in, she kept wanting all the candy in the bowl. She’s going to be a pro at this next year, I can feel it.

B was Spiderman this year. I was apprehensive at first, because the outfit Husband picked out (a “mack daddy” one at that) came with a mask that went over his head. Given his sensory issues in the past (one year he was Super Why! and refused to wear the little blue mask), I was hesitant but figured it was worth a try.

Eat your heart out, Mary Jane.

B did extremely well with his outfit, including the mask. Husband did the honor of escorting him around the neighborhood and noted that B kept on the mask for about half the trip. Candy is such a great motivator, I guess. 😉

I thought I gave you all away? Why did you come back to my house???

About OneLoCoMommy

I live in Northern Virginia and and I look like the stereotypical suburban mom, for better or for worse. My son plays baseball and takes karate (albeit adaptive). My daughter is a gymnastics diva but rolls with the boys in T-ball. I've been a Room Mom and Playdate Coordinator. I work full-time, try to work out, and love my Book Club. However, I also blog on my experiences on our ASD, SPD and ADHD journey while trying to be a better parent advocate. All in a life's work.
