In Memory of Joey.

Well, I had to get the tissues out again.

So, I wrote previously about Dylan and Anne Marie. Now it’s Joey’s turn.

Josephine Grace Gay was another victim of the Newtown tragedy. She was also autistic but severely apraxic. But that didn’t stop her from a wonderful typical childhood. She was born in Maryland and was a diehard Ravens fan (and the color purple). She loved swimming, swinging, and her Barbie dolls.

She, as well as so many others, were taken way too soon. Now, through the Doug Flutie Foundation, Joey’s family has established a fund in her memory. Proceeds will help families with children on the autism spectrum. You can find more information on how to donate at the Doug Flutie Foundation website.

We won’t forget you either, Joey.

About OneLoCoMommy

I live in Northern Virginia and and I look like the stereotypical suburban mom, for better or for worse. My son plays baseball and takes karate (albeit adaptive). My daughter is a gymnastics diva but rolls with the boys in T-ball. I've been a Room Mom and Playdate Coordinator. I work full-time, try to work out, and love my Book Club. However, I also blog on my experiences on our ASD, SPD and ADHD journey while trying to be a better parent advocate. All in a life's work.
