Time For The Big Girl Bed.

Surprisingly, Mayita has never attempted to crawl out of the crib. Yes, a few times standing on toys and dangerously teetering over the edge, but never has gotten out.

She is now almost 28 months and we knew we had to make the change. We’ve been busy traveling and whatnot the past few weeks but today Husband finally did it.

We made the move to a “big girl” bed.

Her bed (and B’s once upon a time) is a convertible model, which means it transforms from crib to toddler bed to ultimately a full size bed by changing out the hardware. Which is really nifty when you consider how much you spend on furniture for your offspring. 🙂

So, Mayita has her “big girl” toddler bed. She is currently napping and I don’t hear a peep. I mean, she naps on cots at daycare so I imagine she has the hang of that.

All proud of herself for getting into her bed now.

All proud of herself for getting into her bed now.

We also installed a gate at her door so she won’t can’t get out. Tonight will be the big test, though. Eight hours in the dark is not the same as a “maybe” 2 hour nap in the daytime. 🙂

My daughter is a gymnastics diva but rolls with the boys in T-ball. I've been a Room Mom and Playdate Coordinator. I work full-time, try to work out, and love my Book Club. However, I also blog on my experiences on our ASD, SPD and ADHD journey while trying to be a better parent advocate. All in a life's work.
